Questions? We’ve got you.

Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Feel free to get in touch through the contact form or email. We usually respond within one business day.

How long does shipping take?

Every product at Kootje Boef is made to order. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting to be shipped.

Graphic wear and posters are typically produced within 5–7 business days. Robot Sculptures generally require up to 10 business days before shipment, as they are assembled by hand after an order has been placed.

Once your order ships, delivery times vary by destination:

  • Netherlands: 1–2 business days
  • Europe: 2–5 business days
  • Rest of the world: 5–20 business days

You'll receive tracking information as soon as your order is on its way.

Why does production take several days?

We don't believe in mass production.

Every item is produced only after an order is placed. This helps reduce overproduction, unnecessary waste, and unsold stock.

It takes a little longer, but it allows us to create more responsibly while maintaining high quality.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. Kootje Boef ships worldwide.

Whether you're ordering from Amsterdam, New York, Melbourne or Tokyo, we'll get your order to you.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is free worldwide on:

  • Graphic T-Shirts
  • Graphic Sweaters
  • Graphic Hoodies
  • Posters

If you're ordering from outside the European Union, your local customs authorities may occasionally charge import duties, taxes, or handling fees. These charges are determined by your country and are not included in your order..

For Robot Sculptures, shipping costs apply due to their size, weight and packaging requirements.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location. You'll always see the total before completing your order — no surprises.

Will I receive tracking information?

Yes. As soon as your order has been shipped, you'll receive a tracking link by email.

Can I return an item if I change my mind?

Because all products are produced specifically after an order has been placed, we generally cannot accept returns due to change of mind.

This approach helps us avoid overproduction and unnecessary waste.

What if my item doesn't fit?

Please consult the size guide on the product page before ordering.

All apparel products include detailed garment measurements in centimetres to help you choose the correct size.

If you experience a sizing issue, please contact us.

While returns, exchanges or refunds cannot be guaranteed for made-to-order products, we'll review each situation individually and work with you to find a reasonable solution whenever possible.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If you contact us shortly after placing your order, changes may still be possible.

Once production has started, changes and cancellations can no longer be guaranteed.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged or if I'm not completely satisfied?

Please contact us within 14 days of delivery and include photographs if there is visible damage or a product issue.

If your order arrives damaged, defective, significantly differs from what you ordered, or if there is another issue that you're not completely satisfied with, we'd like to hear from you.

Kootje Boef is a small independent business and customer satisfaction matters. While every situation is different, we'll review the issue and work with you to find a fair and reasonable solution whenever possible.

The sooner you contact us, the easier it is for us to help.

Do you have size guides?

Yes.

Every apparel product includes a detailed size guide with garment width and length measurements in centimetres.

We strongly recommend consulting the size guide before placing an order.

Are your products unisex?

Most Kootje Boef apparel is designed as unisex clothing and works across a wide range of body types and styles.

What should I do if I'm between sizes?

If you're between sizes, sizing up generally creates a more relaxed fit, while sizing down results in a more fitted look.

What’s the difference between the medium fit (180 GSM) and relaxed fit (215 GSM) t-shirts?

We offer two t-shirt styles, each with its own fit, fabric weight and overall feel.

Medium Fit — 180 GSM (€34,95)

A versatile everyday t-shirt with a clean silhouette and a modern fit. Lightweight, comfortable and easy to wear.

Relaxed Fit — 215 GSM (€39,95)

A heavier premium-weight t-shirt with a roomier fit and a more oversized streetwear-inspired appearance.

Certain graphics naturally work better on heavier garments, while other designs suit a cleaner and more understated silhouette. The choice of fabric and fit is considered part of the overall visual direction — not just the print itself.

For example, many hip-hop inspired designs are intentionally paired with the heavier relaxed fit because it better matches the style and attitude behind the artwork.

See a design you like but prefer it on the other t-shirt model? Just get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

What is the difference between the two sweater styles?

We currently offer two sweater styles:

Medium Fit — 280 GSM (€59,95)

A versatile everyday sweater with a clean silhouette, soft interior and balanced structure.

Relaxed Fit — 350 GSM (€69,95)

A heavier premium-weight sweatshirt with a roomier fit and a more oversized streetwear-inspired appearance.

Certain graphics naturally work better on heavier garments, while other designs suit a cleaner silhouette. The choice of fabric and fit is considered part of the overall visual direction — not just the print itself.

Please check individual product pages for detailed specifications and sizing information.

Can I have a design printed on the other side of the garment?

Usually, designs are printed on the front of the garment.

A small number of hoodie designs feature a back print by default.

If you would prefer a design to be printed on the opposite side of the garment, please contact Kootje Boef before ordering. In many cases, we can accommodate the request.

What materials are used for the clothing?

We use premium Stanley/Stella garments.

Depending on the model, garments are made from high-quality organic cotton and selected sustainable materials designed for comfort, durability and long-term wear.

Are your products sustainable?

Yes.

Our garments are produced using Stanley/Stella apparel, which is known for its commitment to responsible manufacturing and certified materials.

In addition, all products are made to order, helping reduce unnecessary waste and overproduction.

How are the designs printed?

For our garments we use DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing.

This printing method creates highly detailed prints with a soft feel because the design becomes part of the fabric rather than sitting heavily on top of it.

We use NeoPigment™ inks that are free from heavy metals and other harmful substances.

How should I wash my clothing?

For best results:

  • Wash inside out at 30°C
  • Avoid tumble drying
  • Do not iron directly on the print

Following these instructions will help preserve the quality of both the garment and the print.

Are all designs created by Kootje Boef?

Yes.

All designs are created by me and are part of the Kootje Boef universe.

Every design starts as an original concept and is developed with a strong focus on creativity, individuality and visual storytelling.

What inspires the designs?

Music is probably the biggest source of inspiration.

Beyond that, you'll find influences from film, street culture, design history, technology, vintage graphics, robots, underground scenes and everyday observations.

The common thread is simple: creating things that spark imagination and stand apart.

Are the prints officially licensed?

No.

The designs are original artistic interpretations created by Kootje Boef and are not official or licensed merchandise.

Many designs are inspired by music, culture and the things that have shaped me over the years.

In many ways, the designs are my way of communicating with the world. They allow me to share the music, stories, ideas and cultural moments that resonate with me. If a design helps someone discover a new artist, revisit a favourite album or connect with a memory, then it has done exactly what it was meant to do.

Are the Robot Sculptures exactly the same as shown in the photos?

Not always.

Robot Sculptures are produced on demand and assembled by hand from laser-cut components and selected materials.

Minor variations in wood grain, materials, engraved details or vintage construction toy parts may occur.

These differences are part of what makes each robot unique.
