Orbitron is a heavy-duty industrial robot art object designed for exploring hostile planets far beyond known space. Built like a mechanical powerhouse, Orbitron uses its massive piston-driven engine systems and reinforced construction to survive extreme alien environments where ordinary machines would fail.
The sculpture is created from laser-cut and laser-engraved birch plywood combined with etched plexiglass and original vintage Dutch construction toy parts from SIO. Mechanical elements used for the limbs, joints and structural details are individually assembled by hand. This gives every Orbitron its own unique balance of industrial character and retro futuristic charm. Integrated 12V LED lighting brings the laser-etched details of the robots to life with an atmospheric glow.
Because vintage components differ from robot to robot, no two Orbitron sculptures are ever completely identical. Plexiglass background colors may also vary depending on the overall visual composition of the piece. The etched piston engine artwork, its mouth and eyes remain the signature visual constant within every Orbitron model.
Combining industrial aesthetics, retro technology and sci-fi storytelling, Orbitron functions as both a collectible robot sculpture and a striking design object for modern interiors.
